It Looked Like Shaving Cream, But Was Far More Deadly

Just over a week ago, I had the privilege to join Schultzie, Dustin Valencia, and Vicki Miller in playing songs and leading some musical worship at Tyler and Kara Knight’s wedding. It was a very cool experience – that I really enjoyed and am very thankful to have been a part of.

On Friday night – we had rehearsal and the rehearsal dinner, which I missed. You see, my son Jackson was stung on the stomach by a yellow jacket while in the charge of babysitters. He’s fine – and pretty much was always fine. However, his little, fragile five year old psyche was damaged – and he screamed uncontrollably, at the top of his lungs, for about an hour. So, I had to blaze from practice to make sure his arm had not been severed at the elbow.

All of that to say – I went to Home Depot on Saturday and bought some stuff in a can, that when sprayed – foams up kinda like shaving cream. But it ain’t shaving cream. It’s yellow jacket killer. You point the nozzle at the little yellow jacket hole in the ground and to you spray until the foam comes a bubblin’ out.

Yeah – they are all dead. Every last stinkin’ little nasty yellow jacket.

So – for all you yellow jacket fans out there (Jeffrey, Brad, etc.) – it’s just a brief taste of what is to come. You see, the big Dawg’s coming – with a can of bug killing shaving cream. And we are gonna put a whooping on you!

At press time: 33 days, 14 hours, 11 minutes to opening kick-off of the 2006 campaign to rid the world of nasty, hole in the ground infesting bugs.

How Do You Guys Do It?

I must read slowly.

I cannot hang with you guys and your blogs or your posts. Come on, gang. How in the world do you guys have time with your jobs and your kids to write these huge blogs – or to read these huge blogs and then respond with these huge-er posts!!

Maybe I need an Evelyn Wood training course… or more sleep.

The Emergent Church

All of you intellectual powerhouses out there (you know who you are…) have been noodling through this whole ‘emergent church‘ thing for awhile.  For me, it is somewhat of a new concept – as, well, I guess I am an intellectual mini-cooper.

Many of you are clueless about who Steve Camp is – and that is a shame – he spent much of the 80′s and early 90′s recycling pop and rock music into CCM that was pretty much dead on point when it comes to message.  My boy C.A. Nix knows who he is I am sure.  C.A. is an 80′s CCM hound.

Steve posted some info from a church pastor on the Emerging/Emergent Church – and I found it interesting.  Sort of a EC 101 class.  If you have 10 minutes read it.  If not, then don’t.
