If you had...one shot......

Seeing as we've recently established on John's blog that there have been at least 500 good quality songs in the history of music, there must be that one song that I absolutely must acquire with my newfound Code of Power....

I just proved my theory that I don't know what I am talking about. Was it Peter Paul and Mary that sang "Leaving on a Jet Plane and not the Carpenters? It really doesn't matter, "Country Farm" is so talented that they can cover both.

Jeffrey,

You confuse me with someone who has a clue about this topic. Although that has never stopped me before from stating my opinions. When and if I start my own blog, it will be titled "No Factual Basis," because even though I sound very confident in my theories, there is usually no factual basis whatsover to support anything I say.

Hugh,

I was thinking more along the lines of "Country Farm." They have the hair and attitude of Quiet Riot but the soothing vocals of the Carpenters. Instead of "I'm leaving on a jet plane," it could be, "I'm leavin on a John Deere tractor."

Sincerely,

The Social Orphan

Why do birds suddenly appear
Every time you are near?
Just like me
They long to feel the noize
Girls grab the boys
We get wild, wild, wild,
We get wild, wild, wild...

Brad - Is that what Joyce is like? Karen Carpenter meets Kevin DuBrow?

Brad, why'd you go after Pat for having a measly 2,000 songs? ;)

Let's do the math here: Brahms composed at least 150 works (some multi-volume), Beethoven wrote 9 symphonies, 7 concertos, and 30 piano sonatas, and J.S. Bach completed around 1200 works. Add to those guys Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Debussy, and Aaron Tate—you've got at least 2,000 good quality songs for the iPod.

That explains it ... I thought the whole world had become addicted to their iPods.

Pat, 2000? Please ... there can't be 2,000 good songs out there. Its like that Seinfeld episode where they debate the % of good looking people in the world ... maybe 5%. The same can be said of music. There are maybe 500 good quality songs that have been composed throughout history ... and 1/2 that number is from 2 bands (the Carpenters and Quiet Riot).

P.Diddy,

I assume you mean the other Mr. Williams (no relation).

Don't take umbrage so easily. When he writes, "Since I enjoy human interaction..." you've got to remember how few humans will interact with him.

Somebody must have told him about the "Quick! Brad's coming! Everybody pretend you're listening to your iPod" thing... who spilled the beans!? ;)

I have the Jesus Freak album, but none of the others. I do have a different album from Duncan, though. My pod is up to about 2,000 tunes, but many of those are actually teachings and not music. What a great tool.

For the sensitive Mr. Williams, one can use the ipod during one's commute and not come across as rude. In addition, it can be listened to with others at the same time which makes for a fun experience. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water, Mr. Manners!!
