Slick toys

My boy Hugh pointed me in the direction of the Windows Live Writer.  Well, actually, he didn’t really point me – he blogged about it – and I read his blog – and well, here I am composing a blog with the Slick new Toy.

Nice.  You guys know all kinds of cool, neat-o stuff.  I am just an accounting geek, but you all make me want to be a better man.

I went out to ESPN.com and snagged this Georgia G… how cool is that… I just snagged it (probably in violation of 1,243 copyright laws) – and included it in the blog post.

For my boy C.A., who I have dissed about six times in the last month by bailing on a round of golf I offer up this photo with the following, referencing myself, of course:  Slacker!

Enough playing.  This has been mucho fun, but it’s time for a little less intense recreation.

Thanks again, Hugh, for the direction to the slick toys.

Earth… it’s a big place

Oh my.

There is this one blog that I have in my RSS feeds at the top of Firefox… The Calvinist Gadfly.   It is a nice blog – and it has quite a few notable visitors.  One of which is the previously Bulldawgy mentioned Steve Camp and his blog Camp on This.  This week – I ran across a feller that was commenting on the Gadfly’s blog.  You can find this feller here.

If you read this cat’s blog, you’ll find out that he does a lot of thinkin’ – and that no matter how neat and tidy we think we’ve got it tucked away in our brains – the world’s a big place – and it’s full of folks who have some pretty weird perspectives.

I leave you with the sound knowledge that the Georgia Bulldogs have completed their 2006 preseason football camp – and – they have secured a commitment from Israel Troupe, one of the top Wide Receivers in the South.

Oh, and kitty litter boxes are just plain nasty.  Another reason not to have a cat – as if I needed more.

Goodnight folks.

Kids, God and Stuff

I think I’ll take a play from JJStables playbook – and do a little wandering in the blog tonight.  I’ve got a few things going on and they are all immensely important.  *sarcasm alert*  So, I figure I can try to touch on each of them.

Tonight I got an email from Pdiddy that was very encouraging.  He wanted to let me know about how during family devotion one of his many younglings expressed a desire for God to instill faith in him.  This, I agree with Pdiddy, is incredible.  What a blessing to us, as parents, to see God work in our children’s lives.  What a blessing to be a part of that, imperfectly as we are.  God has chosen the family – our families – to be a vessel by which the Scriptures are poured into our children’s lives.  Wow!  Very cool – and very sobering – because with every great privilege – there comes great responsibility….

Just got done watching Back to the Future on AMC DVD-TV tonight.  You know, it is where they take the movie and then put little blurbs at the bottom thorughout the movie about what is happening in the lives of the actors now – and interesting tidbits about the movie that you might never have known.  For instance, did you know that Billy Zane of Titanic fame was one of Biff’s cronies in the film?  Or how about the fact that the script was written in 1981 – but nobody really wanted to make the movie – until the script writers had success with Romancing the Stone in 1984?  Useless info, I know…….

18 days, 12 hours and 41 minutes to the start of the 2006 Dawgs Season.  Still no word on who the starting QB will be…..

Several times over the past week – during family devotion – we have prayed that God would strengthen the IDF and enable them to decimate Hezbollah – while imparting His mercy on the the innocent men, women and children on each side.  What think ye?…..

Lately, the musical ear has been turned to Genesis and Phil Collins – retro, from the 80′s.  A smidge of melancholy – and a smidge of good music.  Don’t know too much of Collins from the 90′s, since he’s not CCM – it was not very spiritual of me to listen to him *sarcasm alert*….

Goodnight folks….
