Over the last few days, the Lee clan spent some time in Dublin, Georgia with Lee family. My dad - ask me, if you really want to know about him - and his family are from Dublin. My mom and her family moved to Dublin in 1960 - and she grew up from a young lass of 11 to graduate high school there. Her sister went on to marry a farmer from Dublin and they still live there. So, in a round about way - it is home - the roots of my side of our family.
My dad’s sister is kinda like a mom to me - and her husband is in many ways like a father to me. We spent some time at their house - a beautiful restored house (built in 1904) on 8.5 acres of land - in Dublin, Georgia. Their son, my cousin Martin, has a game called Age of Empires III. Evidently, there are two earlier versions - go figure. It is a cool computer game where you pick the European empire you wish to be. You develop a colony - and an army - and if you are fortnate - you get to whoop up on the opposing empires that are trying to establish themselves on your turf. John Michael and I took out the Ottoman Empire in 20 minutes. Queen Elizabeth and the pesky Brits took about an hour and a half, but the Queen was talking all kinds of smack - so we did not accept her first two requests for surrender and we razed her villages to the ground. All in all, much fun.
While in Dublin, I was offered what I would consider to be the most generous financial and familial gift I have ever been offered in my lifetime. No strings attached, but to accept the gift would mean a monumental change in my life - and in my family’s life.
I don’t want to get into too many details, just yet, but I would ask that you’d pray for me - and my family - as we seek God’s glory in this decision. It is a big one.
The Georgia starting QB situation is cleared up a bit. First string: Joe T. Second String: Joe Cox.
Less than a week to kickoff - folks. Aren’t you excited!!! GOOOOOOOOOO DAWGS!!!!
