They were great musicians but it seemed like they were hanging onto the dream of the Buffalo Springfield sound coming back into mainstream popularity again. Also check into Matt Wertz's new record — it's got good melody. Buy something from this millennium and get The Fray — and let me borrow it. :)

In the late 80’s I played in a band with some older gentlemen who only listened to music from the 60’s. They were great musicians but it seemed like they were hanging onto the dream of the Buffalo Springfield sound coming back into mainstream popularity again.

Bruce D. is Dickenson from Iron Maiden. Now don't let the backmasking fear of the 80's scare you here. The band has some of the most potent lyrics of any band. These guys think about what they sing - The War of 1812, Greek Mythology, WWII, etc. I am lyrically sensitive - no obscene-laden songs for me. You KNOW I don't need that. ;-) If you want to hear a great rock/metal singer, go to the iTunes store and look up "Flight of Icarus" by Iron Maiden from the Piece of Mind album. That is a great vocal that only Daughtry could dream about. You can hear Bruce Dickinson has training (not the more cowbell Bruce).
