As promised, a satellite photo courtesy of the United States Government, Google Earth and Jack Bauer of the land on which we have put a contract. The Richardson Family and the
Lee Family have contracted to purchase this lovely, but difficult to access, 4.85 acre tract in East Cherokee County.
I have also included, for your general amusement, another aerial photo from a higher altitude so that you can get an idea of the general location.
Now we must get a level III soil test (to make sure our the water percolates out of our poop into the ground) and then we must get it surveyed and split into two parcels. The kind folk at Cherokee County assure us this will be no problem.
We are happy with the location, the price, the land, almost everything seems to be just as we had ultimately hoped. Lord willing it will all work out. So, we are hopeful and thankful - and incredibly blessed.
And the whole land hunting and house building thing seems kind of silly when we consider the suffering of so many innocent ones, even in our own “land of the free”.
Come, Lord Jesus.

As for the news story, indeed, it’s an f’ed up world.
