Speaking as one who came kicking and screaming to the particular atonement (Piper's words) side, I found it sad that Falwell did not use scripture to base his rebuttal. Instead, he falls back on personal belief, baptist traditions, and how he wishes the world to be, to support his charge. Contrast this to Pipers messages on the Resurgence podcast from last fall, where he lays out the overwhelming weight of scripture to support particular atonement. When in doubt, we must always fall on the side of God's word, and ultimately, to His sovereignty. Ahh, I see you found that as well.
