Where the Brain Is

Last fall, my pal guiroo pondered the upcoming football season. Being a recent convert to the Bulldog nation, he even created a category on his blog for the Dawgs.

In an effort to expand his daily readings, I offer him (and you) this link to one of my favorite Dawg blogs. Most of you fellas read deep, complex theologically intricate blogs. Me – I like Senator Blutarsky. He’s relatively clean (not too much profanity) – and he is passionate about the Dawgs. Notice the pic at the top of the blog – Vince Dooley and James Brown. Sweet.

Guiroo, enjoy. All you other fellas, enjoy as well.

The Debate

Steve Camp has an interesting blog post on the debate between Ray Comfort/Kirk Cameron and the atheists regarding the existence of God.  I think that he articulated the results of the debate very well.  That, however, is an opinion shaped by perspective.

Have you seen the debate?  If so, what are your thoughts?

The Way I See It #242 (c) Starbucks

I took the younglings with me to Kroger today. I have been playing Mr. Mom this week while my wife suns in the tropical paradise of Hawaii.

Back to Kroger and the followings….

We needed some additional grub, so I packed them up and off we went. Afterwards, I stopped by Starbucks for a cup of Joe. It is safe to say that I am pretty much addicted to the stuff. While Kathy has been gone, it has been tough to get a good cup. The only one I’ve had was Sunday A.M. on the way to church. The reason? I don’t drink the foo-foo coffee. So when I get a cup of Joe, I need to do it up my way. That means a healthy dose of half-n-half and two raw sugars. Anyway, no matter how I express this through the drive through – those Baristas just can’t get it right. And, I am not so addicted that I am going to pack five kiddos out of the car into the Starbucks and then back into the car….. but, I have really gotten off track.

On today’s cup, I was struck by the following opine of one Beth Vanden Hock, of St. Louis, Missouri:

Children are born with such a sense of fairness that they will accept no less than equal treatment for all. I know – I have three. I hope that as they grow, they keep that sense of justice and learn to challenge the old adage “life’s not fair.” It should be, in so far as we have control of it.

Wow. That’s pretty amazing stuff. More later, I’ve got to go pull Henry off of Ellie. He’s hitting her with his toy car, Mr. The King.
