A House for Sale and a Body Needing Healing

BULLDOG UPDATE:  41 days to opening kickoff!

As most of you might already know, we are trying to sell our house.  It has been on the market for 126 days.  That is a long time.

We have been somewhat spoiled.  In 1996, we put our house on the market on a Sunday, by owner, and on that very Sunday we had two contracts.

In 2001, we advertised our house for sale, by owner, and had a contract in three weeks.

So, we are kind of in uncharted waters here.  I think 126 days qualifies as four full months.  Most folks who have sold a house recently had to wait a long time to get an offer, let alone a contract.   But, we have purchased the land and are paying interest (even as I type the dollars are accruing).  Needless to say, we are ready to move.

God apparently has other plans for us in His providence.  If you folks don’t mind, say a prayer for us – that we’d be patient – and God honoring in how we act and think, even as things don’t unfold as we wish.

Also, if you could, please keep praying for my mom.  She begins her chemotherapy treatments this coming Thursday.  She already is tired of the trouble this whole treatment brings, and she doesn’t have chemical number one in her system yet.  The road ahead for her is long and hard.  Your prayers are coveted.

Wine? No… but I will have an Extra Helpin’ of them tater’s and gravy

The irony is so thick here, I’ll just let it speak for itself.  Enjoy.

Blog Vacation

The written word is captive in my typing fingers. My brain has been on a blogging vacation of sorts. I will not lose any sleep however. I will enjoy the blogging down time, until my brain desires to write and my fingers agree to type.

One thing I would ask is that you keep my mom in your prayers. She recently had surgery to remove breast cancer and she will begin chemotherapy soon. If I had to take a stab at it, I would say that my mom is not a follower of Christ. Please pray for her healing, both spiritually and physically, and for the glory of our God in this and all circumstances.

Thanks, gang. Remember, only 54 days until the kickoff of the Dawgs 2007 gridiron campaign for supremacy of the SEC EAST! UGAUGAUGAUGAUGAUGAUGAUGAUGAUGAUGAUGAUGAUGAUGAUGAUGAUGAUGAUGAUGAUGAUGA
