Ouch.

Losing to Steve Spurrier is painful, but Spurrier as a chicken? Ouch. The Dawgs – who I had internally, but not publicly, picked to win (my score 21-14) – got beaten tonight by a hungry, motivated, well-coached team. Our quarterback play was spotty – and the play calling of CMB (Coach Mike Bobo) was not what we are accustomed to.

The only bright spot in it all is that my expectations for this season were not real high – so it is not a tremendous let down. Isn’t that the way it is with expectations – if they are low, stress is low. Now that’s a formula I need to work on!

Final Score: Chickens 16, Dawgs 12.

Soli Deo Gloria, folks!

Solid Start to 2007

How bout them Dawgs!?! The Bulldogs put in a great, solid performance against OKY State on Saturday, pulling out a victory by a final of 35 to 14.

One thing that Georgia seems to have more of than they have had in the past is what some folks refer to as ‘playmakers’. These would be folks that because of their skills can make great plays happen. One such young man is Knowshon Moreno – a redshirt freshman out of New Jersey. Look for more good things from him.

Next week – we are actually playing a team with chickens as a mascot – and the evil one as a coach.

The Time Has Arrived

Been slammed lately – with many things – most of which are both time consuming and mentally taxing. Very little blogging going on – as is the case with Schultzie, DaveE, and Hughbie Hughbie Hugh.

So, I thought I’d take five minutes and celebrate the arrival of football season. Some quick reading on the Dawgs prospects for the game tonight.

[This is meant for Pdiddy]. And some love for the Oregon uniforms – er, well, I guess you could call it love.

Prediction for tonight’s game: DAWGS 31, OK STATE 21.
