I’ve had a few things going on lately, to put it mildly. One of the nifty things about the accounting profession is that I sell time (and expertise, but let’s keep it simple). This means one and only thing: if I am the only person doing the work, then I have a limited inventory of product to sell. So, in order to increase profitability – and decrease stress and workload for me – I hire folks that do accounting work for my clients. That increases inventory – and accordingly, the product I can sell. Works great, when the peeps are working.
Well, lately, my peeps have flown the coop. Since July – we have been flying solo around Mudd Lee. No peeps – just me and Brent – and let me tell you – we have gotten behind. So, in order to catch up – I have pulled two midnighters this week and am heading to the office tomorrow morning for another day of work. Then, I get Sunday off – only to fly to Vermont on Monday to start another project. Now, there are nice things about Vermont in October (leaves and their beautiful colors are some of those things), but we made a little mistake in our planning. The trip is the week before the October 15th corporate deadline. Yikes.
Anyway, I am pooped – and I have a lot on my mind – and in the midst of it all, I am reassured by the grace of God – even when I don’t seem to experience grace from those around me.
To wrap up before I hit the road home, I will make a prediction for the Dawgs. I really did not expect them to be 4-1 at this point in the season. I expected them to be 5-0, and I always thought that Tennessee would be our first loss of the year. Unfortunately, I think it will be the second. Tennessee 24, Georgia 21.
I love my Dawgs anyhow.![]()
I have been praying for you dude.
I read this at my vacation spot, “The Will of God will not lead you where the Grace of God can’t keep you” or something like that. After some pondering, I rang true. I hope it is some encouragement to you.
I wish your prediction of the spread was accurate.
Try to get rest and appreciate the little things … like a fresh pair of soft white socks.
