Christmas iTunes Bucks, vol. I

Thank you to all who have given me advice on how to spend my Christmas iTunes bucks. I received some very diverse suggestions and I intend to follow up on some, but probably not all, of the leads.

In an example of a full loss of self-control, I have gone wild and purchased one song with my Christmas iTunes bucks. Yep, that’s $0.99 to you and me. Last year, I took the younglings to see Meet the Robinsons in the theater. Normally during these movies, I will have the youngest (in this case Ellie) sit in my lap and let the others sit around me while I doze through what is an awful move (Robots and Brother Bear come to mind). But, Meet the Robinsons was nice. Different. I enjoyed it. I also enjoyed a song that I heard from the movie, but couldn’t find it anywhere. I was looking for a song called Small Hours, but kept getting linked to Metal Head sites. Ultimately, google search sent me in the right direction - and I was led to Little Wonders by Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20 fame.

I give the song two thumbs up. Ah, isn’t the snow beautiful.

let it go,
let it roll right off your shoulder
don’t you know
the hardest part is over
let it in,
let your clarity define you
in the end
we will only just remember how it feels

our lives are made
in these small hours
these little wonders,
these twists & turns of fate
time falls away,
in these small hours,
these small hours still remain
