Think Before You Sell

For all those out there who have a gas-guzzling SUV (like me) – think before you panic over the current run-up in gas prices.

Ultimately, I am much better off keeping the almost paid for Suburban – than ponying up for a new Prius. Who am I kidding, I’d need two Priuses. Priuses…. is that right? Just sounds kinda sick.

Formal Equivalence vs. Free Translation

We’ve spent a bit of time lately discussing the merits of the ESV versus the NIV when it comes to scripture memory.  I ran across this interesting post on Tim Challies’ blog.  In it, he gives his opinions on the matter of a literal translation (or formal equivalence) and more of a free interpretation (or free translation).  If you have 10 minutes, it could be a valuable read for your perspective on the matter.
