Here are some more pictures – these are the basement walls – they still have the forms on them. It takes 7 days for these bad boys to "cure" – then we start framing! Woo Hoo!!
It took a whole bunch of thinking and explaining for me to finally understand the concept of footers on a house. It seems that all of those load bearing walls need and extra layer of concrete in the ground – I guess to make sure the house is stable (and doesn’t sink in the dirt).
As part of my updates on the progress of the house, I offer you these pictures of the forms for the footers. They have actually already been poured with concrete – and even the walls have been formed (and I hear they’ve been poured). But for now, these are all the pictures I can post.
