There’s a First Time for Everything

UGA I’m sure that out of the thousands of readers of this blog there are few people who don’t remember the first time for some big first events.  You know what I am talking about.  How about your first kiss?  Or maybe the first time you drove a car without mom or dad?  Maybe your first night away from home at college.  Point is, there is a first time for most everything – and Bulldawgy wants to officially acknowledge this first as something special.

 

For the first time in the history of college football (or at least the coaches poll, the Georgia Bulldogs are ranked as a preseason #1.  If you want to read some more about it, and I am sure that you do, you can get some keen insight here.

 

Don’t get me wrong.  Normally – I only recommend the USA Today for wrapping fish, lining a puppy’s cage, or for use as kindling for a campfire.  But in this case, since they sponsor the coaches poll – I am making an exception.

 

Saturday, August 30th, is just 29 short days away.  Be excited, Dawg Fans!  UGA

On the eve of the Sugar Bowl, I ask you – did you know that you can’t spell sugar without UGA? Now that is one from the days of parachute pants, bands named for dogs from Oz, and ninth grade Geometry. I go back… and I digress.

Since Pdiddy has graciously extended the hand of fellowship to me and my family – I will be at his house, pulling for the PAC-10 team during the Rose Bowl tomorrow – and will be unable to give my grand prognostication prior to game time. So, here is the Bulldawgy take on the Sugar Bowl.

1 for 2. But considering that I had 365 days….

Back at the beginning of 2007, I set two goals for myself for the year as follows:

(1) Land somewhere on eschatology. Post-trib, pre-trib, mid-trib, a-mill, partial praetorist, full pop-tart – anything! Study the word. Read some writings of great minds. Make up my mind.

Well – I whiffed this one. Swing and a miss. The sad thing is, I never really got to the point of starting on this one. There was always something that seemed more important.**

(2) Write and record more music. Well, I am going to call this one a bloop single to right field. I found time (and emotional inspiration) to write and complete three full songs – that I actually like. The bloop part is that they haven’t been recorded. :-( The Chilly Dog Studio has been temporarily shut down – as my keyboard was destroyed by jelly (thanks, Ellie) and I have moved the Mac to the bedroom in anticipation of tax season. There will be time… there will be time.

So, there you have it, if you were interested. 1 for 2. Hopefully, I can put some new requirements together for 2008… and soon.

** Uh, for further clarification – it seemed more important than defining my eschatalogical viewpoint – not more important than reading/studying the Scriptures. I’m not that whack, folks. ;-)
